During my New Year getaway in Herefordshire with some pals, I happened to find HiFiGear in Hereford on Saturday, December 31st.

When I popped in, I struck up a chat with Jamie, who was super helpful, polite, and really knew his stuff about HiFi separates.

Feeling impressed by my first visit, I decided to swing by again the next week to check out the Rega Planer 6 turntable and a few high-end amplifiers, including the Rega Elicit Mk5.

When I got back to the shop, Charlie welcomed me and guided me through an amazing listening session in their upstairs sound room.

Unlike my local HiFi shop back in Surrey, both Jamie and Charlie were friendly, engaging, and didn’t rush me into buying anything. They didn’t overwhelm me with technical jargon and recognized that my true passion was music, which they respected.

With a fantastic selection of vinyl to choose from, I was able to make my choice by listening to the kind of music I love... which is crucial when searching for that perfect fit.

I ended up purchasing the Rega Amp and plan to return later this year to chat about getting a new turntable.

I had a wonderful time shopping online with Hifi Gear when I bought some hefty floorstanding speakers and speaker cables. Charlie was a gem, keeping me informed about my order's progress and sorting out alternative delivery options when DPD, their courier, ran into some hiccups.

I messed up the speaker cable termination and the way the order was fulfilled, but Charlie sorted it out for me right away.

As for the speakers, considering their size and the DPD troubles, Charlie even drove the entire 160 miles from Hereford to London just to hand deliver them.

This whole experience made me promise to always back and recommend HiFi Gear for many years ahead.

I bought a set of PMC Twenty5 22i Bookshelf Speakers, along with some stands and Naim NAC A5 cables. With the holiday season, postal delays, and DPD being swamped, getting my order was a bit tricky, and the three packages showed up at different times.
